The Dragon Cults	Easterling Warriors and Easterling Kataphrakts in warbands led by the Dragon Emperor or Easterling Dragon Knights do not need to pay the points to be upgraded to Black Dragons – this upgrade is free.
Heroes of the Easterlings	Easterling Heroes may re-roll a D6 in a Duel roll.
No Quarter was Asked	Easterling models receive +1 Courage when their force is Broken. Additionally, once per game, in Scenarios in which a dice is rolled to see when the game ends, so long as there is at least one Easterling Hero model alive and on the battlefield, the Easterling player may choose to have the dice re-rolled if the Scenario ends before they wish it to.

This is an Elven-made spear that may use the Feint special strike. Additionally, the bearer may use the Shielding special rule even though they do not have a shield. The Dragon Emperor of Rhûn may not support whilst mounted upon his Royal Palanquin.

Heroic Action(s)

Unlike other Heroic Actions, when a Hero declares a Heroic Resolve, the effects of the Heroic Action take place immediately. Friendly models that are within 6\" of a Hero model that declared a Hero ic Resolve, including the Hero themselves, receive one free additional dice to any Resist tests they make for the remainder of the turn. Note that in the case of Warrior models, and Hero models with. no Will points remaining, this allows them to make a Resist test on one dice rather than none. If a model that has the Resistant to Magic special rule is subj ect to a Heroic Resolve, they may roll two dice fo r their Resist test ( one for Hero ic Reso lve, and one fo r Resistant to Magic). A Hero who dedares a Hero ic Resolve cannot move in the same tum (they are too busy trying to steel their allies aga inst unfriendly magics), however they may still do anything else that they would usually be able to do, such as cast Magical Powers.

A Hero model who declares they are using Heroic Strike adds D6 to their Fight value for the duration of the Fight phase. This is rolled for at the start of the model's Duel roll and lasts until the end of the turn. This cannot increase a Hero model's Fight value above 10. Note that this bonus is applied before other effects are taken into account. Thus, a Hero who is Engaged in a Fight with a Bat Swarm would add 06 to their Fight value (to a maximum of 10) and then halve the total due to the Bat Swarm's Blinding Swarm special rule.

A Hero model that declares a Heroic Defence will only suffer a Wound on the roll of a natural 6 in the ensuing Fight phase, regardless of any special rules, modifiers or Brutal Power Attacks. If the Hero would usually have been wounded on a 6/4+, 6/5+ or 6/6, then they will only be wounded if both rolls are natural rolls. Note that a Hero model's mount is not affected by Heroic Defence.

A Hero model who declares they are using Heroic Strength adds D3 to their Strength characteristic for the duration of the Fight phase. This cannot increase a Hero model's Strength above 10. Note that this bonus is applied befo re other effects that affect a model's Strength, such as the Wither Magical Power.

Special Rule(s)

Easterling models can use pikes and shields at the same time without penalty. Furthermore, should an Easterling model on foot with this special rule lose a Duel roll, up to two other models that also have the Phalanx special rule can Make Way instead of one.

Friendly Easterling models will benefit from the Dragon Emperor of Rhûn’s Stand Fast! Regardless of range; this will also affect Easterling Hero models.

The Royal Palanquin is a banner with a range of 12\". As these banners are attached to the Palanquin itself, the Dragon Emperor of Rhûn and the Black Dragons do not suffer the -1 penalty for carrying a banner.

Friendly Easterling Warrior models within 6\" of the Royal Palanquin, and who can draw Line of Sight to it, gain a bonus of +1 to their Fight value.

This is a mount for the Dragon Emperor of Rhûn; however, it does not act like normal Cavalry and therefore will not confer the Cavalry keyword to the Dragon Emperor. Instead it will be treated as if it were an Infantry model.

The Royal Palanquin is carried by six Black Dragons; each armed with shield and sword. The Black Dragons do not take up any spaces in the Dragon Emperor’s warband.

Whilst the Royal Palanquin has 3 or more Wounds remaining, it moves as normal. If it is reduced to 2 Wounds, its Move value is reduced to 3\". If it has only a single Wound remaining, then it cannot move at all.

When the Palanquin is hit by a shooting attack, the shooter must take an In The Way test to determine whether the Dragon Emperor or the Palanquin is hit. On a 1-4 the Palanquin is hit, and on a 5+ the Dragon Emperor is hit.

If the Dragon Emperor dismounts fromthe Royal Palanquinfor any reason, or is slain whilst riding the Palanquin, replacethe Palanquin with a number of Black Dragons equal tothenumber of Wounds it has remaining; they do not needtomakea Courage test to see if they flee. These models, along withthe Dragon Emperor, should be placed within the footprint of the Palanquin.

Unlike other mounts, the Dragon Emperor does not useanyof the characteristics of the Palanquin; instead he always useshis own set of characteristics, even if one of the Palanquin’s isbetter. If the Dragon Emperor wins a Duel roll, except whenshielding, then in addition to his own Strikes, the Palanquinmay make a number of Strikes equal to its remaining Wounds. These Strikes are always resolved after those of the DragonEmperor and cannot make Special Strikes.

The Royal Palanquin cannot be knocked Prone for anyreason, with the exception of if it is hit directly by a Siege Engine.

The Royal Palanquin, and any model riding it, cannot be affected by the Hurl or Barge Brutal Power Attacks. Additionally, the Royal Palanquin will not be movedbytheSorcerous Blast or Call Winds Magical Power, thoughit will still suffer any other effects if applicable

Heroic Action(s)

A Hero ic March enables a Hero to swiftly cover a greater distance - ignoring the chaos around them to rush into position. A Hero model who uses a Heroic March adds 3\" to th eir maximum Move distance if they are Infantry, or 5\" to th eir mount's maximum Move distance if they are Cavalry, or if the Hero has the Fly special rul e. Models who utilise a Heroic March may not Charge under any circumstances in the same Move phase.
If a Hero dedares that they will attempt a Heroic March, but is charged befo re they can perform it, the Heroic March is cancell ed and the Might point spent to attempt it is lost.
AT THE DOUBLE!
A Hero model who is conducting a Hero ic March may choose to shout "At The Double!" as they move, to enable their fr iends to keep pace with them. In this case, note their starting position before moving any affected models. Any friendly models within 6\" of that point, who have not yet moved, also add 3\" to their maximum move distance if they are Infantry and 5\" to their mounts' maximum Move distance if they are Cavalry, or they have the Fly special rul e. Once the Hero has completed their move, those affected models may also move, so long as they end their move within 6\" of the Hero. If a model attempts to move to within 6\" of the Hero, but fails a ro ll (such as a Jump test) th at makes this impossibl e, they si mply stop moving where they currently are. Should a Hero call At the Doubl e! and then subsequently flee the board as a result of their fo rce being Broken, or die before their move can be completed, their Heroic March will automatically be cancell ed. A Hero can utilise their Heroic March and call At the Doubl e! without actually moving themselves; they are simply goading their friends into action. These models may not Charge under any circumstances as part of the At The Doubl e! move.
Any model in range of the Hero ic March that does not move cannot choose to move later on in that phase.
If a Hero that decl ared At the Doubl e! moves off the board, then any models that are affected may also move off the board if able, though those who cannot must fo rfeit their movement. If a Hero declares At the Doubl e!, then any models th at are affected may only move off the board if the Hero also does so.

Special Rule(s)

This model gains the Shieldwall special rule while they remain mounted, even though they are not on foot. The +1 Defence bonus is applied to both rider and steed. Hero models with this special rule that do not have a shield will still benefit from this rule.

At the start of the Move phase, a model with a war drum may declare they are sounding the advance. When this occurs, all models with the same keyword as the one shown in brackets, within 12\"" of the drummer, add 3\"" to their Movement value if they have the Infantry keyword, and S"" to their movement they have the Cavalry keyword or the Fly special rule for the remainder of the turn. Models that are affected by a war drum may not Charge in that turn. Models can only be affected by a single war drum at any one time.
